Image editor software is used to tidy captured images before they are sent to the OCR for recognition. It can also be used to transform one image file type to another, or to change the color encoding formats or compression methods. Sometimes an OCR program may not be able to read certain image file types or images saved using a special color encoding or compression scheme. An image editor can be used to open these files and then save them to another type. |
